Winter and Spring
The ice in my voice
Will go away
The mask that is my face
Will melt
The weight upon my shoulders
Will lighten up
But the sky has one less star.
The steel in my eyes
Will turn into rubber
The knot in my stomach
Will straighten away
The feeling of inadequacy
Will fade into black
But the sky has one less star.
The tears I've wept
Will dry in an instant
The clouds upon my head
Will dissipate
The sorrow and sadness
Will change into something else
But the sky has one less star.
The people in my life
Will come and go
The things I've lost
Will be found again
The winter night
Will turn into spring day
Yet the sky has one less star.
